Life Time Designs and First Texas Home Health have combined our expertise to offer the home safety
modifications program of F.I.R.S.T. (Functional Independence Related to Safety Training) to anyone who may need assistance throughout the North Texas area.

Our services include a Home Safety Risk Assessment performed by our Occupational Therapist who is certified in home modifications and aging in place. By performing this evaluation, our Occupational Therapist can help recommend appropriate home safety modifications that are individualized for each client’s needs. Our CAPS (Certified Aging in Place Specialist) certified construction team offers free estimates. We also offer consulting for new home modifications and universal accessibility.

  • Full Home assessments with a Comprehensive Home Evaluation Report (CHER)and recommendation consultation for existing homes, new homes, catastrophic injury, progressive diagnosis, and aging in place.
  • Consultation on needed Durable Medical Equipment, Adaptive Equipment, Specialized Products, Funding Resources and Assistive Technology
  • Coordination of Home Modification Projects working in conjunction with outside Builders and Remodelers, Interior Designers, Insurance Companies, State Agencies, and Life Care Planning Elder Law Firms, In-Home Care Agencies, Hospitals, Rehabs, Skilled Nursing Facilities and private referrals
  • Commercial Building Consultations and Evaluations to go above and beyond ADA requirements.
  • New home construction consultation for accessibility, safety, independence and aging in place.

Our Occupational Therapist works closely with the client, their family and all other parties involved including builder or remodeler to ensure that the project is carried out according to the client’s needs, and goals. She also ensures that the most appropriate recommendations are made according to clinical need and desired functional outcome. By using a Home Modification Specialist, Occupational Therapist on your home modification project or with new construction will help the client and contractor gain clinical insight to the individualistic needs of the client and give a more holistic picture for future outcome and also help create a therapeutic, aesthetically pleasing, and functional living environment to last a lifetime.
