Home modification and consulting for safety, accessibility, universal design and aging in place.
Life Time Designs is a unique and innovative home modification company that is capable of modifying
your existing home for improving accessibility after a disability or for aging in place. Life Time combines both clinical and construction expertise to determine any potential home safety issues such as falls that might possibly occur. Supervised by a professional Occupational Therapist, we can help you live independently and age in place safely.
What Can Life Time Designs Do For You?
As we age, our best fall prevention strategy would be that our homes “age” with us. However, for the majority of the general public this is not the case. Most of our homes were not initially constructed with features such as step-less entry ways, accessible walk in showers, wide doorways or free of any and all other potential barriers. LifeTime Designs can consult with you on your existing home or future home projects for accessibility, safety, and aging in place environments with consideration of individual needs based on age, injury or disability. Essentially, we work to create safer surroundings for our clients while adding a touch of home interior or exterior design. We can help you make your home last a lifetime!
How Does LTD Work?
Life Time Designs can accept referrals from any agency, entity or individual needing home modifications for safety, disability or aging in place. We accept personal referrals from individual’s, referrals from hospitals, physicians, outpatient clinics, skilled nursing facilities, assisted livings, Long term acute care hospitals, rehabs, home health care agencies, governmental organizations such as Medicaid CBA(community based alternative) programs and Area Agency on Aging or Elder Watch groups. Upon receiving a referral, Life Time’s staff Occupational therapist performs an onsite home safety risk evaluation at the client’s home. After completing the evaluation, the Therapist consults with our own construction contractor in order to decide the best, most cost effective home modification needed for an individual or family. Our Occupational Therapist will make recommendations for specific home modifications and equipment needed based on the client’s physical ability and presentation, goals, individual needs and future outcomes of the client’s diagnosis or aging process. Based on the therapist recommendations, our construction contractor is then able to give input on what home modifications would be structurally possible. A complete diagram, cost estimate, along with safety recommendations is delivered to the client for consideration within a few days of the evaluation.
